Jay Bavisi

BIOGRAPHY

Jay Bavisi is the Co- Founder and President of EC-Council, a global leader in information security education, training, and certification. Formed following the 9/11 incident, EC-Council addresses issues of cyber terrorism raised at the forefront of security of nations at large. It is the owner and developer of the world famous Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), Secure Analyst (ECSA), and Licensed Penetration Tester (LPT) programs.

Jay led the efforts in establishing the partnership with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), an arm of the United Nations, via the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) to develop sustainable knowledge and capabilities in information security awareness amongst government agencies in 194 member countries.

Jay is a Board member of the Department of Homeland Security/National Security Agency’s Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE), reputed as one of the largest information security gathering of academics, government, and industry professionals in the United States.

Jay is a highly sought after speaker that shares his thoughts globally. Jay was named as the Keynote Speaker for the National Initiative for Cyber Security Education (NICE) Conference in Columbia, Maryland.

NICE is a White House initiative under president Obama to enhance the recruitment, training, and retention of cyber security professionals, to raise public awareness, and to enhance cyber security education in US schools, building on and going beyond the CNCI initiative to expand cyber education nationally in the US.

An information security evangelist and architect, he regularly shares his insights with law & policy makers at various international conferences and seminars globally.

He was the Chairman of the Hackers Panel at Infosecurity Europe, the Closing Keynote Speaker for ITWeb Security Summit in South Africa, the combined Keynote Speaker for Techno Security/ Hacker Halted USA and Keynote for IDC Security in Finland. He was also invited to speak at the US Department of Homeland Security Software Assurance Forum, Department of Defense Cyber Security Conference, Interop Las Vegas, Interop Mumbai, Hacker Halted Dubai, Hacker Halted Mexico, World Information Security Conference in Nigeria, CSI New York, Techno Security, and Techno Forensics. Jay was also invited to speak at the head panel discussion on information security at the World Summit of Information Society that was chaired and hosted by His Excellency, Dr. Hamadoun Toure, Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, a United Nations agency in Geneva recently.

His key expertise is in the area of Ethical Hacking, Information Assurance and Computer Forensics with a special focus in the government mitigation.

Jay serves as an advisory board member of the Global Institute of Information Security Research, a not for profit collaborative initiative between National Institute of Standards and Technology, Department of Homeland Security, National Security Agency, private industry, academia. Jay is also appointed as an Advisory Board of CompTIA, a non-profit trade association advancing the global interests of IT professionals and companies globally.

Jay is the Chairman of the ECCouncil Foundation, a not for profit charity dedicated to raise awareness of information security, build capacity and promote world peace. He has contributed in projects to help the unfortunate gain technical knowledge, help wounded warriors become cyber experts and help kids become aware of cyber risks.

Sean Lim

Senior Vice President | International

BIOGRAPHY

Sean Lim is responsible for the deployment of EC-Council’s highly sensitive information security curricula and action plans to its training partners across 60 countries globally. He leads a team responsible in ensuring that all EC-Council technical trainers achieve the highest standard of training delivery and that all participants of EC-Council’s training programs benefit immensely from the training.

Sean also leads the development of EC-Council University’s presence into Asia. This role is taking him across Asia and this is where he sees tremendous opportunities for EC-Council University’s growth.

With over 18 years of experience in the training and education industry, Sean was instrumental in introducing and developing quality international IT training and education businesses to countries across the Asia Pacific region including the Middle East and Africa regions. He has worked with university partners from the USA, UK and Australia, bringing their education solutions to these markets.

He has vast experience in developing franchising and licensing solutions for the training and education market including online learning solutions, which saw him establishing over a few hundred learning centers in across more than 30 countries globally. In the online education space, Sean contributed to the conceptualization, development, and marketing of an online learning environment which saw the introduction of the Asia’s first fully online Bachelor of IT which was hugely successful.

Sean travels widely and speaks at various information security events, education and technology conferences regionally touching on the latest trends and developments in these areas. He has been invited to speak at regional franchising and licensing platforms where he shares with business leaders and entrepreneurs on how quality education on any mode can be franchised and licensed as an effective learning and business model.

Lata Bavisi

President | EC-Council University

BIOGRAPHY

Over a span of 20 years, Lata Bavisi has had a very exciting career with experiences in different industries across the globe. As a trained attorney, she has been able to help steer many of these organizations. These roles manifested into leadership positions which benefited the organizations greatly as she played a pivotal role to help corporate growth. She has over 15 years of experience as a member of the board of EC-Council in Asia, which is noted as one of the world’s largest information security certification bodies.

The decision of joining EC Council University as the Vice President was the result of her passion for academia, and her knowledge of the educational industry was instrumental in implementing cyber security knowledge into academe, with an aim to achieve practical results in the “real world”.

The diverse roles of her career have given her the skills, abilities, and experience to enable her to view the Vice President’s role from three complementary perspectives: as an educator, responsible for facilitating students’ growth and learning; as an “education end-user,” understanding the needs of those who employ our graduates; and as a leader of an institution, understanding the need of creating an institution that exudes quality, excellence and innovation in all that it does to ensure its success.

In the Board meeting of October 2017, the Board unanimously recognized Lata’s contribution in the transformation of the university and promoted her to the position of President, effective November 1, 2017.

Steven Graham

Senior Vice President | Product Development

BIOGRAPHY

Steven Graham serves as the Senior Vice President of EC-Council | Global reporting directly to the CEO. Steve joined the company in 2005 as a strategic consultant and accepted a full-time position in 2006 tasked with building the North American Organization. Dissatisfied with traditional education deficiencies, Steven has focused on the use of Technology in the transfer of knowledge and skills for 15+ years.

Spanning his time at EC-Council, Steven has led the development of multiple divisions for the company including iClass (EC-Councils online learning division), iLabs (EC-Councils Education Technology/Cyber Range division), Academia (EC-Council’s tailored education division for k-12, 2 and 4 year institutions), as well as EC-Councils US Government business units serving our armed forces.

Steven regularly serves on various boards and committees dedicated to the development of the cyber security profession and is passionate about the use of advanced technologies in the classroom and in support of continuous development of tactical cyber security skills.

Steve is an active member of a variety of committees within EC-Council including the Executive Committee (EXCO) responsible for top executive leadership and direction for the global organization, EC-Council’s management committee, Product Council, Security Council, Technology Council, and Academia Leadership Committee.

Steve’s most notable achievements at EC-Council include the listing of three certifications from EC-Council, CEH, CHFI, and CCISO in Department of Defense Directive 8570/8140, Mapping of programs to over 300 Job roles spanning the US NAVY, US ARMY, US AIR FORCE, and US MARINE CORPS. Steve also led the development of EC-Councils Academia division resulting in the successful publication of nearly 40 books in cyber security currently used at more than 3,000 partner schools including community colleges, 2, and 4 year institutions including a variety of large US Academic brands and their accredited degree programs. Academia currently influences the education of over 60 thousand students each year in North America. Lastly, Steve was a key strategist in the concept and strategic development of a fully asynchronous Cyber Range solution that has influenced hands-on training capability for cyber security students across the globe and led to EC-Councils current Performance Based Training and Performance Based assessment platforms. This asynchronous cyber environment has had over 1,000,000 unique launches since its initial launch and has been the cornerstone for training and education programs across the globe utilizing EC-Council content.

Steve resides in Tampa, Florida and in his off-time is an avid fisherman, master’s level classical and flamenco guitarist, husband, and father of four young children.

Karan Henrik

Senior Vice President, Digital Transformation and Strategy at EC-Council Group

BIOGRAPHY

Karan will be spearheading innovation and execution, actively advising and helping EC-Council implement entry/growth strategies for digital businesses, both regionally and globally, to ensure profitable growth and successful transformation.

Karan holds degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Malaya, where he was an HP Scholarship holder, and Stanford University, where he was a Krupp Foundation Fellow. He also completed the Asian and General Management Programs at INSEAD, besides being an alumnus and international faculty member of the Haggai Institute of Leadership.

His vast experience began as an R&D engineer and Product Manager at Hewlett-Packard Company, where he led the design of real-time Unix based systems and custom hardware that were deployed throughout the world. Since then, he has assumed various leadership roles in companies across the globe.

Karan has extensive operational and business experience in the communications and digital industry across Asia as well as Europe, MENA, and the US. He is a frequent speaker on digitalization issues and is a sought after thought leader.

Eric Lopez

Vice President | Global

BIOGRAPHY

Eric Lopez graduated from New Mexico State University in 1992 with a degree in Journalism/Mass Communications with an emphasis in Advertising Design. Eric spent 1992 to 1996 working as a graphic artist at multiple offset printing companies as well as a freelance graphic artist for many commercial companies.

In 1996 Eric became a trainer at New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Albuquerque, NM teaching graphic design software courses such as CorelDRAW!, Adobe Photoshop , Adobe Illustrator and Adobe In-Design. Eric also taught the Microsoft Office Suite through the advanced level.

From 1996 to 2008 Eric worked at several New Horizons CLC franchises including those in Santa Cruz, CA, Tucson, AZ, El Paso, TX and finally back to Albuquerque, NM. During this tenure, Eric worked at a Trainer, Training Manager, Operations Manger, Sales, Manager, Senior Sales Manager, General Manager and finally co-owner at New Horizons CLC of El Paso and New Horizons CLC of New Mexico.

In 2008 Eric took his vast training center experience to EC-Council North America where he developed and launched the iClass training division whose charter is to offer EC-Council certification courses in live, online, and streaming video online training formats to clients who don’t have access to an EC-Council Authorized Training center in their local area. EC-Council Authorized Training Centers also utilize the iClass platform to deliver online training to their students.

Eric continues to run the iClass training division and has also become the Executive Director of the EC-Council Foundation, which delivers IT Security conferences all over the world. The EC-Council Foundation, under Eric’s leadership, also runs the Global Cyberlympics hacking competition with world finals held in locations around the world.

Ali Baniasadi

Vice President | Finance

BIOGRAPHY

As Vice President, Finance, Ali with a background leveraging MBA in Finance and significant hands-on experience and expertise in Finance is responsible to manage global finance operations, including controllership, financial planning, analysis, and reporting, investment, M&A, analysis and risk management.

Ali is an integrated member of the global finance function and works closely together with the finance partners, the global experts and the global Finance Operations team and Alternate Business directors, participating in global/regional initiatives and incorporating our global goals into the local goals and objectives, where appropriate.

He works with CEO, board of directors and all other ECC business leaders to articulate long-term financial goals and targets and prepare the annual plan, Long Range Plans, and regular re-estimates.

Ali also works closely with the CEO, COO, VPs and country managers to track and monitor capacity, clients, revenues, and costs, continuously identifying and implementing programs for managing capacity mix, pyramid, pricing and compensation and ‘other costs’ and profit improvement measures.

Akash Agarwal

Vice President | IMEA & APAC

Akash is responsible for leading EC-Council’s business operations in the area of information security, training, and certification for business acceleration. Over the last decade with EC-Council, he was responsible for setting up the sales division in India, the entire international business unit, and the direct to customer business units. Akash travels widely and speaks at various information security & technology events and conferences, touching on the latest trends and developments in these areas. Prior to joining EC-Council, Akash worked as a core team member with HCL to establish their education business. In HCL and during his stint with other companies like NIIT, he was involved in high-level tie-ups with educational institutions, colleges, and universities across the country. He has also been a visiting faculty to universities in the past. With over 20 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Client Servicing, and People Management, Akash has an innate flair for accepting challenges and commendable abilities in managing and leading his teams to achieve both business and individual goals. An IIM-A alumnus, Akash holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Marketing. He resides in Hyderabad, India.

Vivek Shally

Vice President | Global Operations

As Vice President – Global Operations, Vivek Shally provides executive leadership to the Global Operations Group, supporting global certification holders & members in over 150 countries.

He is responsible for leadership and management of all strategic and business aspects of the company, including Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, Compliance & Project & Program Management, TQM, and the successful execution of all major initiatives. He leads all Certification & Credential Management initiatives related to ANSI 17024, CREST, and Remote Proctoring Service.

He is also the Data Protection Officer of the company and is responsible for ensuring appropriate governance, policies and procedures, and maintaining the Data Protection Policy of various business units.

Prior to EC-Council, Vivek served in executive positions in organizations including PMI and Eli Global, where he executed strategic plans to ensure integration and alignment of key initiatives and priorities to improve business agility and help build organizational capabilities. He has provided executive oversight to academic institutions and government bodies, and has served as an Advisory Board member for various academic institutions.

Vivek is a Management Postgraduate, Certified 6σ Black Belt Practitioner, Approved KANBAN® Practitioner, Senior Professional in Supply Management Level 1 & 2, and Project Management Practitioner.

Bharat B Anand

Vice President | Technology

Bharat sets our technical strategy, combining advances in computing with EC-Council’s strengths to deliver the best customer experiences. As the group IT & Technology head, he leads the team in technology innovation, building tools and systems to digitally transform our business, using both scale and power to deliver a competitive advantage while improving productivity. He also oversees our global data, cloud, infrastructure, and information security operations, including for EC-Council University.

He has 25 years of diverse technology leadership experience, and has worked across geographies globally, in high-growth, startup, and turnaround environments with domain expertise in Law Enforcement, IT/ ITeS, BFSI, Manufacturing, Retail, and Telecom sectors, both corporate and government.

He is an Engineer and MBA with numerous industrial certifications and affiliations to various industry bodies. He is a well-networked speaker at national/international conferences, winner of many industry accolades, guest faculty at educational institutes, and believes in giving back to society.

Raj Kumar Viswakarma

As the Director of technology, Raj is responsible for managing the overall security posture of the organization. He plays an important role in managing all external and internal technology needs of the organization. He also shares a role in designing, managing and allocating resources to various security programs within an organization’s security department; creating user awareness and security compliance education campaigns; interacting with non-management employees; and offering key assistance in the event of a security incident and subsequent investigation.

Wesley Alvarez

Wesley Alvarez is a native of western New York with a passion for cybersecurity education and new technologies. His experience comes with over 12 years in strategic cybersecurity program development in compliance with academic and industry accrediting standards. Throughout his career, Wesley worked on project development, program mapping, and course integration for top industry certification bodies, including EC-Council. He has supported EC-Council’s cybersecurity education initiatives from 2008 to 2014 via Axzo Press publishing (Rochester, NY) and in May of 2014, he transitioned from Axzo Press to EC-Council (Tampa, FL) to lead EC-Council’s Academic division. Wesley is the creator of the globally recognized EC-Council Academia program, a program supporting a network of over 2,000 secondary and post-secondary institutions across the world which focus on certification and stackable credentials, accelerated workforce pathways, hands-on education, disruptive learning environments, cyber competitions, and more. This program supports tens of thousands of students each year with hands-on, tactical cybersecurity education courses via the EC-Council Academia Series.

Wesley’s vision is to bridge the gap between the ever-changing Information Security industry and higher education classrooms to ensure students transitioning to their professional careers are properly equipped with a career-based education. He has contributed to numerous content and program advisory boards for colleges and universities across the world, and has worked with some of the most prominent institutions in the U.S. to influence their programs and prepare their students for existing and future careers. These colleges include, but are not limited to, the University of Maryland Global Campus, Naval Post Graduate School, Western Governors University, Miami Dade College, University of Phoenix, St. Louis University, Vincennes University, and more.
